SAHAN: Center for the Care and Treatment of People with Mental Illness 15th annual anniversary

Hargeisa (ANN)- The Health, care and rehabilitation center of SAHAN, which treats and cares for people with mental illnesses, held an event to mark the 15th anniversary of its establishment in the northern center of the capital city of Hargeisa.

 

On the occasion of SAHAN. which was widely organized, the graduates were attended by the authorities of the center, officials from the Somaliland government, scholars, parliamentarians, politicians and the parents of their children and some of their relatives who were treated, the sameand returned to the community and their lives at the moment.

People who are taken to the center are taught skills and also taught when they have recovered from the mental illness they were first taken to the center.

SAHAN center, which is the largest in the Horn of Africa, some of the people who are cared for come from East African countries and other countries, and it is worth noting same of them from European and American countries, which are people with mental illnesses.

The officials of SAHAN said in the forum that when people recover, they are taught skills to go to work, such as tailoring, making tools, lighting, learning the Somali language, the Holy Qur’an and other important skills, and they are return to society.

This week’s event coincided with the 15th batch of those who succeeded in recovering from mental illness and were taught skills to return to the community to lead their lives as happens every year by the SAHAN care and treatment center.
