Somaliland presented its case to the American-based international institute, the Headway Institute.
Washington (ANN)- The Hilton Garden Inn Washington was held to discuss the importance of Somaliland to the Horn of Africa region, and was fortunate to be attended by MP Mustafa Mohmamed, one of the Somaliland Senate members.
MP Mustafa, who is also a lawyer, delivered a speech at the forum in which he presented the laws establishing the Republic of Somaliland and its importance to the region. the legal arguments supporting Somaliland’s claim to statehood, including the principles of self-determination and the historical context of its independence before the 1960 union with Somalia.
The statement made by MP Mustafa at the Headway Institute, which he shared with Araweelon News Network, began as follows:-
“Today, I had the privilege of presenting at the Future Diplomacy Forum 2025 (Washington DC), where I explored the legal and diplomatic dimensions of Somaliland’s pursuit of international recognition. The presentation focused on the challenges and strategies involved in Somaliland’s quest for statehood, examining both the legal foundations and diplomatic efforts that have shaped its path.
