Addis Ababa(ANN)US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has met with representatives and leaders of different religious institutions today in the capitalAddis Ababa, according Ethopian News.

Mike Pompeo and leaders The two sides discussed the importance of religious freedom in the process of building a democratic governance system.

Pompeo noted that the coming Election in Ethiopia will have a pivotal role in transforming the country to democracy on his Twitter page. He urged for constructive dialogue to conduct a peaceful election in the country

In his official visit to Ethiopia, the secretary of state has met with President Sahlework Zewde, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Foreign Minister Gedu Andargachew.

He indicated that the US is committed to support the reform process in Ethiopia.
