Mr. Donald TrumpWashington(ANN) US presidential candidate Donald Trump’s campaign might be a “controlled opposition” led by the establishment, says an analyst and former US presidential candidate.

In an interview with Press TV on Wednesday, Merlin Lloyed Miller attributed Trump’s rising popularity to the general view that regards him as “anti-establishment.”

“He is addressing some issues that are resonating with a lot of Americans, especially the issues of the economy, the immigration invasion… mostly the nationalist perspectives that he is starting to appeal to those sentiments,” Miller said.

Trump says he would deport 11 million undocumented workers from the United States and would establish a “deportation force” for this purpose.

The real estate magnate has also pledged to build a wall on the border with Mexico to prevent undocumented immigrants from entering the US. The proposal has drawn heavy criticism in and outside the US, even outraging Pope Francis who has questioned Trump’s Christianity.

Regardless, Miller said Trump will garner more support and will go on to represent the Republican Party in the election which will be held in November.

The analyst further said that Trump is a “Zionist supporter” and could lead the US into more conflicts in the Middle East.

Trump emerged victorious in Tuesday night’s Nevada caucuses, further bolstering his status as the GOP front-runner.

The victory came after he won two consecutive primaries in New Hampshire and South Carolina and finished second in the Iowa caucuses.

Trump is ending the first month of the nominating process with about three quarters of the delegates awarded.
