Mogadishu (ANN)-Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud chaired a four-way meeting in Mogadishu attended by Kenyan President William Ruto, Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh, and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

The meeting discussed how to unify the operations against Al-Shabaab, while the leaders analyzed the process of implementing the Mogadishu plan that emerged from the meeting held in recent days by the Ministers of Defense and Commanders of the Armed Forces of Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Djibouti.

Although Villa Somalia was attacked by artillery during the meeting, the leaders jointly praised the achievements of the Somali forces in the operations to liberate many areas still controlled by Al-Shabaab.

At the end of the meeting, a joint statement was issued by the leaders of the frontline countries who met in Mogadishu.
