Cairo(ANN)-  Cairo has suggested to the Egyptians who are currently in Somaliland, a separate authority from Somalia that Egypt does not recognize, to leave Hargeisa airport as soon as possible, noting that the security situation in the area limits the power of the consulates.

The Egyptian embassy in Mogadishu has also called on people planning to visit any region of Somalia to fully comply with the laws and regulations established by the relevant authorities.

These issues have been followed by a growing tension in the region, with the Somaliland Government expelling Egyptian citizens and closing the doors of the Egyptian Library office, which was represented by a consular representative, which is located in the capitalSomliland in Hargeisa.
