#Somaliland has suspended the projects of the United Nations agencies in Somaliland.
Hargeisa(ANN)-The government of #Somaliland, has suspended all cooperation with the United Nations agencies operating in the Republic of Somaliland, and has suspended the projects of the United Nations agencies in Somaliland.
This was stated in a Decree dated 25 Oct 2020, and circulated to all United Nations agencies, with a copy of the warning to the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office (UNRCO).
According to a copy of the circular obtained by Araweelo News Network, it was signed by the Minister of National Planning Dr.Hassan Mohamed Ali (Gaafadi), and said that the Minister also sent copies to the Director of Communications of the Ministry of National Planning, Director General. of the Ministry and Deputy Minister.

“Ministry of planning and national Development fulfilling its mandate to coordinate the Development and humanitarian activities implementing by the development partners is the hereby shearing with all UN Savageness, that all discussions and consolation regarding the UN country programs and work plans are suspended until for there notice.
All sorts of events on the above mentioned issues are not allowed effective from today 25 Oct 2020.’ Said the Ministerial Circular. by Gaafaadhi.
The Minister of Plannings decree comes days after the last extraordinary Somaliland Cabinet meeting, held at the Somaliland Presidential Palace on September 17th, 2020, in which the Somaliland government discussed its position on the Federal Government agreement. and the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Somalia, James Swan, on October 15, 2020, on the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNCF), and described the plan as “viable” and appears to be an affront to Somaliland’s sovereignty and an interference in Somaliland’s internal affairs.
Therefore, Somaliland is not and will not be part of the Federal Government of Somalia.the cabinet declares to the international community that it is independent of Somaliland and Somalia. The statement from the Somaliland Cabinet said.
“Somaliland has not shared any legitimacy, employment, and co-ownership with Somalia for thirty years. Somaliland will never heed the political, economic and media pressure to undermine Somaliland’s statehood, a statement from the Somaliland presidential palace said on October 17, 2020.
The relevant ministries have been instructed to provide in-depth information. Therefore, the circular of the Minister of National Planning of Somaliland, dated 25 Oct, 2020, appears to be a follow-up to the last Somaliland Council of Ministers meeting, in response to an agreement between the Federal Government of Somalia and the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General. for Somalia James Swan, on 15 October 2020.
