The world has watched in horror recently as the humanitarian disaster continues to ravage thousands of people in Somaliland.
It is estimated that 250 children died every day from malnourishment, while the death rate reached between 5 and 7 per 10,000 per day in parts of Somaliland, forcing the UN to declare famine in parts of Somaliland: the first such declaration in three decades.
Somaliland Drought Appeal Committee in Cardiff, Wales is issuing an urgent appeal to the World including the Diaspora Communities, NGO’s and the international relief organisations to assist in the humanitarian crisis resulting from the impacts of drought in the Horn of Africa. Rainfall over the past two consecutive seasons have been below-normal level, as a result, people and their livestock are facing a catastrophic crisis.
