Mogadishu (ANN)-Somalia has named a New Cabinet former Al-Shabaab leader as a minister, Mukhtar Robow code name (Abu Mansur).

He was one of the founders of Al-Shabaab, and was the spokesman for the group for a long time, before we returned in December 2018.

Mukhtar Robow has been under house arrest for the last four years, as he was denied the right to move freely, but the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamse Abdi Barre, added the names of the ministers he named on August 2, 2022, and Abu Mansur became a minister in the new cabinet of the country.

The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamse Abdi Barre, said that before appointing the Council of Ministers, he consulted with the President, Parliament and government agencies, but it is not clear whether the appointment of Muqtar Robow was part of the consultation.
