Somalia: Federal Cabinet Meeting focused on the progress of the national security

Mogadishu(ANN)In its weekly Cabinet Meeting of the Government of the Federal Republic of Somalia several essential issues were deliberated. The meeting today at 17th September 2015chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Mohamed Omar Arteh focused on the progress of the national security. The outcome of the recently held Somali-UAE Investment in Abu Dhabi, and they also looked at the proposed introduction for rules and regulation for the access and care of those who are physically disabled.

The Cabinet first heard the presentation by the Minister of Interior Abdirizaq Omar Mohamed who gave a detailed report on the recent gains and progress made by the National Security Forces. He emphasized that the security forces on daily basis conduct sweeping security operations which has been beyond expectation successful.

On the other hand the Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Guled Husein Qasim outlined to the Cabinet the outcome of the recent Somali-UAE Investment Conference in UAE. The Minister confirmed the discussions centered on the potential viable investment opportunities in the Somalia, with emphasis on Agriculture, Livestock, Telecommunications and Natural Resources.

“Somalia does not only need economical aid, but also needs investments in order to create job opportunities for youth, and achieve economical, political, and security stability” said Minister Guled.

The Cabinet Meeting also deliberated at length the proposed regulation to govern and introduce rights of access and care for the physically disabled. However because of the due attention and study it requires and warrants. It was agreed to defer its decision making until next meeting.
