Bikers join anti-lockdown protest in Albany USA

New York(ANN)-US Anti-lockdown protesters were joined by a motorcade of bikers, as people held a demonstration near the Albany Capitol building on Saturday, decrying New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo’s handling of the coronavirus crisis and demanding restrictions to be lifted.

Motorcyclists were seen arriving, joining the demonstrators who waved US flags and carried signs opposing the quarantine, despite the state’s ban on all non-essential gatherings aimed at stopping the spread of the virus.

From Friday on, parts of New York were reopened, with all state beaches also expected to open for Memorial Day weekend. The US has been the worst-hit nation by the coronavirus outbreak.

According to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University over 1,466,000 confirmed cases have been recorded in the country, with over 88,700 virus-related deaths.
