Hargeisa(ANN)Somaliland Lawyers Association which is a non political and non profit organization designed to facilitate the delivery of legal services has held their 2016-2017 elections.

The members of the Somaliland Lawyers Associations (SOLA) extend their warmest welcome to their new leader Attorney Mahammed M. Hashi (Timo).

Founded in 2004, Somaliland Lawyers Associations task is to equally serve their members, profession and the public by defending liberty and delivering justice to all.

The organization’s foremost objective is to righteously increase public understanding of and respect for the rule of law, the legal process, and the role of the legal profession at home and throughout the world, hold governments accountable under law, work for just laws, including human rights, and a fair legal process, assure meaningful access to justice for all persons and preserve the independence of the legal profession and the judiciary of the Republic of Somaliland.

To be elected in to a leadership position for the first time can be exhilarating as well as overwhelming status quo, however, what really matters is to have enough persistence to overcome obstacles and courage to face the challenges that will arise in the future.

Attorney M.M. Hashi (Timo) who was successfully chosen to lead one of the prestigious organization in Somaliland has always impressed many Somaliland Lawyers and prosecutors with his clear vision and ability to get the job done against the most formidable opposition.

Many lawyers as well as citizens of this country believed that their new leader Attorney M.M. Hashi has accomplished commendable career through out his endeavor and were delighted to hear of his historic victory. They are confident that under his great leadership, wisdom and guidance will take the organization into much greater heights and triumphs.

Everything you will ever do as a leader is based on one audacious assumption. It’s the assumption that you matter. Before you can lead others you have to lead yourself and believe that you can have a positive impact on others. You have to believe that your words can inspire and your actions can move others. You have to believe that what you do counts for something. If you don’t, you won’t even try. Leadership begins with ourselves and hence was the principle motive by the majority that attorney M.M.Hashi (Timo) is well qualified to lead.
