Hargeisa (ANN)-The President of republic of Somaliland, Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi, has called on the Egyptian government to the troops it is bringing to Somalia divert to help the Palestinian people who have suffered at the Rafah border in Egypt.

 

President Bihi said this in a speech he made during his last week’s trip to Eastern Somaliland regions, to be informed about the situation in Eastern Somaliland

His words are in response to the Egyptian government’s plan to send troops them to Somalia, which is part of the Military Agreement signed with the Federal Government of Somalia, and Egypty last week.

The Egyptian government wants its troops to enter Somalia African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) wearing shirtsof the African Union.
Egyptian government has said it wants to replace its troops after the short term of ATMIS, but Egypt’s announcement has sparked conflict in the region.
