Hargeisa(ANN)The government of Somaliland for the Second Time Executes 4 persons according to general attorney. The Executions included a Man who recently killed Immigration Officer in Berbera and other convicted murderers. The executions took places in three locations in Borama, Dararweyne and Madhera.

Sources mention that the execution order was signed by Somaliland President Siilanyo for the 4 men in order to mitigate the situation after murder-related cases have increased in the recent times.

The calls to reintroduce state executions come after several gruesome murders. Death penalty proponents in Somaliland feel that the death penalty reduces crime because it deters people from committing murder if they know that they will receive the death penalty.

Last Year, The Government of Somaliland Executed 4 men in a firing squad in a jail after being sentenced by the Military tribunal, the court officials confirmed to the media.
