Hargeysa(NN)- The government of Somaliland has arrested MP Mohamed Abiib, who is one of the opposition MPs elected from Awdal region, and one of the representatives of the opposition council, who strongly criticizes the leadership and incompetence of President Bixii’s government.
The MP was arrested at the Egal International Airport in Hargeisa, after returning from a recent trip to the United Arab Emirates, where he honored the Somaliland community in a large meeting where he spoke about the state of the country, describing the leadership of President Bihi as a failure. Somaliland lost, at the same time it lost development, security and community unity.
  “Those who say today, we will defend the country, where is the country that was handed over, where is the national army, where is Sool, they must be held accountable, they have no one to tell them truth,” MP Abib said this in a speech he gave last week to the Somaliland community living in the UAE.
MP Abib, after an interview that was seen on social media, said that the people who voted him they did not believe in the SNM rebellion, and he said, “SNM had its good and bad. “If the country is governed by the constitution, there is no need to turn it into a rebellion, and we will not accept it,” he continued.
MP Mohamed Abib, his name has caught the attention of the legal councils and the political arena, after that, the National Prosecution filed a case against him, and asked the House of Representatives to strip him of his immunity. It was necessary to answer in the council that the number of MPs required by the law was missing, and MP Mohamed Abib who traveled to the constituency of Awdal at that time was welcomed in a big way, he spoke in public to thousands of people who showed their support.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives has condemned the arrest of MP Mohamed Abib, and in a statement they issued later described the arrest as a violation of the law and the constitution of the country, so they called on the government to restore his freedom as soon as possible.
On the other hand, his arrest was condemned by the opposition party WADDANI, as the candidate for the presidential election in WADDANI, Abdirahman Irro described the arrest of the MP as unconstitutional and intended to create chaos and chaos in the country to disrupt the election.
Also, the chairman of the KAAH Political Association, Mohamud Hashi Abdi, described the matter as the latest attempt by the government to disrupt the elections expected to be held in the country on November 13, 2024, but he called on the government not to trample on the law. and restore his freedom to MP Mohamed Abib, calling on the people of Awdal region and Somaliland community not to follow the path that the government wanted of chaos and disrupting the elections.

MP Mohamed Abib openly and boldly criticizes the government of President Bihi for weakening the country economically and politically, and has created division in the society as well as biases and kinships that have creited the problem of the nation’s wealth, which has caused the problems of justice.
