I THINK IT WOULD BE PREFERABLE FOR SOMALILAND THAT THE NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION GET DISSOLVED DUE TO THEIR TRUSTWORTHINESS BECAUSE THEY CAN’T ENSURE THE RESPONSIBILITIES THAT’S IS ON THEIR SHOULDERS.
WE’VE WITNESSED HOW IRRESPONSIBLE THEY ARE BY PROCLAIMING THE NUMBER OF OF VOTERS REGISTRATIONS AND THE REGISTERED SOMALILAND VOTERS THAT TOOK THEIR VOTING CARDS, AND THERE WERE A GAP BETWEEN THE REGISTERED VOTERS IN ONE REGION IN WHICH WE COULD ALL SEE THE ENORMOUS UNPROFESSIONAL IRRESPONSIBILITY OF “NEC” WHICH WORRIES US A LOT AS SOMALILAND CITIZENS.
HOW COULD “NEC” MANAGE AN ELECTION WHILE THEY CAN’T ENSURE AND CROSS CHECK THE REGISTERED VOTERS BEFORE THEY RELEASE IT TO THE PUBLIC?
NEC DIDN’T GET AWARE OF THE IMMENSE UNPROFESSIONAL MISTAKE THEY DID BUT DID GOT AWARE OF IT BY THE CITIZENS WHO IMMEDIATELY GOT AWARE OF IT WHICH CREATED A BIG SOCIAL DEBATE.
THE PUBLIC HAD DOUBTS CONCERNING NEC IN WHICH THEY HIGHLY BELIEVE THAT THEY WERE NOT QUALIFIED AND COULDN’T BE TRUSTED DUE TO PREVIOUS SCANDALS IN WHICH THEY COULDN’T HANDLE THE CAMPAIGNING PROTOCOLS SETS BY THEM BY APPLYING IT AND ENSURING THAT THE POLITICAL PARTIES CONFORMS TO IT.
NOT ONLY THE DOUBTS OF THE PUBLIC BECAME REAL BUT IT ALSO INCREASED THEIR WORRIES, BUT NOW THEY ARE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THE RISKS AND SECURITY SAFETY OF THE GENERAL ELECTION.
