The militia leader of Lascanod town and two people from the self-proclaimed Awdal diaspora claim they represent the Awdal region. Diplomatically, this was seen as inappropriate by the Djibouti president, as it goes against the diplomatic norms of his presidency. Both groups are challenging the agreement between Ethiopia and Somaliland, and they are concerned about the security and stability of the region.

Ninety percent of Djibouti’s economy depends on exporting and importing goods from Ethiopia. Ethiopia provides Djibouti with electricity, water, vegetables, and beans, which are essential for the well-being of the Djibouti people.

It is disappointing and disgraceful to see a photo of the president of Djibouti posing with a warlord in his palace. Inviting such individuals to the presidential palace reflects poorly on the nation’s values and dignity.
