Kyiv says it regrets that its Western allies have not decided to send in modern heavy Tanks

Kyiv (ANN)- Ukraine says its losing its people on the frontlines, and desperately needs the world’s support as its soldiers fight Russian forces.

Kyiv says it’s disappointed that its western allies were indecisive on sending heavy-duty modern tanks such as German-made Leopards to Ukraine.

The United States recently said that Ukraine lost 100,000 soldiers in the war, and Russia also lost the same number, but neither side confirmed it.

However, Ukraine and the European Union have announced different numbers, while the United Nations Human Rights Organization, OHCHR, recently reported the number of people killed in the war.

Ukraine says heavy tanks are essential to defend an expected Russian offensive in the spring. It believes any delay means more Ukrainian blood will be shed and more of its land taken.

Russian tanks have become a major part of the invasion, and there have been many promises received by the Kyiv administration from the United States and the European Union.

Germany has said several times in the past that it will send tanks to Ukraine, although it has not yet fulfilled that promise.

It appears that the military support that has become the cause of the war in Ukraine is intensifying, while Russia is increasing sanctions against Ukraine in response to the military support.

Germany has lost defense minister Christine Lambrecht, who resigned last week due to the war in Ukraine.

While NATO and the US allies in the European Union began to withdraw politically from the war in Ukraine, there was no sign of tanks being sent to Ukraine from Germany.

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) verified a total of 7,031 civilian deaths during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as of January 15, 2023. Of them, 433 were children. Furthermore, 11,327 people were reported to have been injured.

Ukraine war: Zelensky aide reveals up to 13,000 war dead, he said this during a state funeral for Sergeant Yuriy Chernenko, who died in Lviv in November 2022.

Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said between 10,000 and 13,000 troops had died.

Neither Ukraine nor Russia tend to release figures for casualties, and Mr Podolyak’s comments have not been confirmed by the Ukrainian military. In June he said between 100 and 200 Ukrainian soldiers were dying daily.

Last month, the top US general, Mark Milley, said that up to 100,000 Russian and 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers had been killed or wounded since the start of the war. But there is no official evidence to testify to the numbers stated by the United States, while the European Union believes that at least 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers and approximately 20,000 civilians died in the 11-month war.
