Hargeisa (ANN)-The Government of the Republic of Somaliland has held a meeting on the current situation in the country. As the tension of the conflict in the Eastern regions increases, especially in the city of Erigavo, the capital of Sanaag region, where in the last 78 hours, in the 7 murders have been reported.
In a meeting held by the Council of Ministers of the Presidency later today, some points were discussed about the situation in the country. The issues discussed in the meeting are related to the renewed conflict in the eastern regions of Somaliland as well as the elections that are expected to take place in the country on November 13, 2024.
According to a statement released after the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Somaliland, the meeting was chaired by the President of the Republic of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Somaliland, Mohamed Kahin Ahmed, gave a report on the cabinet of ministers of public security in the country and the security of the Horn of Africa region. in his report, he mentioned the issues of conflict in Somaliland’s eastern regions and the threat to security in the Horn of Africa.
The issues that emerged from the Somaliland cabinet meeting were as follows:-
1. Just like the council of ministers decided on the 130th sitting on the defense of the country and the elections, the council will again prove that it is committed to holding the elections and defending the country.
2- Sanaag region, a region that has been living for a long time, peace and stability has started work in the south of Ceerigabo, organized groups that are being led by the Mogadishu administration, the aim is to disrupt the process of the democratic process and the elections that will be held in the Republic of Somaliland.
3. in The Somaliland government is clear that everyone in Sanag region will protect the stability and peace of mind by helping its citizens.
4. in The Somaliland government is calling on all the tribes living in Sanaag region to be vigilant against those who are enemies to their coalition and their peace, and at the same time they should live in peace and those who are causing the conflicts to them.
5 . While the unity and cooperation of the people of Somaliland, the council of government decided that the national parties and organizations should come together to discuss the defense of the country and the elections that are coming to us, the meeting will be hosted by the chairman of Kulmiye party and the minister of internal affairs.
6. The ministers strongly warns foreign forces that are being exported from the Eastern region including the Egyptian army that are deployed to Mogadishu who are more desperate than today to help their brothers Qasa who are in need of their neighbors who are in need. This proves that the Egyptian army is going for their own interests and not for Somalia’s interests, and their coming will cause fire and wars in the Horn of Africa.

Since the Republic of Somaliland and the Mogadishu administration is not there, there is no government and any administration between them.
Finally, the council of ministers of the republic of Somaliland is calling on all Somaliland citizens inside and outside to unite to protect the nation, defend the country and anyone who is trying to disturb the unity of the people , and the development of the country.
