Samawada sent Appeals to the Presidents of  Somaliland, Djibouti, Ethiopian PM, Britain, the USA and the Somali Communities

 

Hargeisa(ANN)- Hibo Aden Dirieh (aka Samawada), a human rights activist who played a key role in the fight against Siad Barre’s military dictatorship, has been involved in human rights and advocacy for prisoners more than last twenty years.

Dirieh, speaking in surprise about the Ethiopian war that led to the genocide, displacement, rape and famine, described the situation as “outrageous” and called on Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, to stop fighting.

Hibo, also called,  on the United States and Britain to work together to end the ongoing fighting in Ethiopia between the Federal Government Forces backed by Eritreans and the Amhara militia in the fight against the Tigray Defence Forces (TDF).

“The war is a catastrophe. Human conscience is rejecting the consequences of the war. I call on Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to stop fighting. I also call on the international community to stand up and stop the fighting. “I urge the United States and Britain also to stand up and stop the fighting. Human conscience is rejecting the consequences of the war. The reality of the war is that the world is in danger.” She said.

Ms. Hibo Samawada, who spoke to Bulsho TV today in Hargeisa, the Capital of the Republic of Somaliland, said that there were massacres of Somalis living in Ethiopia and she sent a message to the President of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Gelleh. On he a visit to Ethiopia, and she was proposing that Prime Minister Abiy be held accountable for the plight of the indigenous people of Ethiopia’s Somali ethnic group.

Meanwhile, Ms. Hibo Aden Dirieh (Samawada) sent a brief message to the President of the Republic of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, regarding the deportation of hundreds of Somali families from Las-Anod, the capital of Sool region, on Saturday.

“We are a stable, law-abiding and secure country. The perpetrators should have been brought to justice and the innocent should have been reasonably deported, but I am sorry,” she said. “So, My President, I say you have to look at a lot,” she said.

Samawada,  also called on Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi, to release those who have not been convicted of serious crimes, and she also called on Somali businessmen to come to the aid of Somalis in need in Ethiopia.
