Djibouti(ANN)-Drug trafficking: Nyckoss under surveillance of the Guelleh Presidential Guard for a story of ass or drug trafficking?
Everyone in Djibouti knows that Tommy Tayoro Nyckoss, the husband of the daughter of the President of Djibouti and consul general of Côte d’Ivoire in Djibouti recently, is a womanizer who takes advantage of the fact that his wife Fatouma-awo Ismael Omar Guelleh has her back turned to sleep from left to right.
On Wednesday, June 10, 2020, Mr. Tommy Tayoro Nyckoss in good company with Mrs. Noura Tani in an apartment in the building of Djama Ali Guelleh saw a group of the Republican Guard disembark in the apartment. The arrival of the Republican group is estimated to be around 10 a.m. and these soldiers of the Djibouti presidency have, as if they had a firm order, beaten up Noura and Tommy without asking questions.
Mrs. Noura Tani was left in her apartment, but in a bad state and Tommy Tayoro Nyckoss was manually loaded into the Republican Guard truck.
Mr Ismael Omar Guelleh, the President of Djibouti and Tommy’s father-in-law, ordered the Commander of the Republican Guard, Colonel Mohamed Djama Doualeh, to confiscate all of Tommy Tayoro Nyckoss’ travel documents. And an exit ban is imposed on Tommy Tayoro Nyckoss, who is currently living in the offices of Solar7, a front company in Djibouti.
Is Tommy Tayoro Nyckoss under such pressure from his stepfather for a sex story or does his situation have something to do with the drug trafficking charges published in the Ivorian media last week?
On 9 June 2020, the Ivorian newspaper Vice Media quoted the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), a US agency specialising in tracking down drug traffickers, as saying that it was ready to arrest 157 Ivorian personalities, headed by Hamed Bakayoko, Ivorian Defence Minister and acting Prime Minister.
A source in the Djiboutian vice police with good connections to the director of the Djiboutian national police confirmed that Ismael Omar Guelleh was taking precautions because Tommy and Hamed Bakayoko had relations that involved dubious business that the Djiboutian presidency was well aware of.
The source adds: “Given that Ismael Omar Guelleh is the biggest arms and drug trafficker and money launderer in East Africa, nothing excludes that Guelleh himself and the airline – Ivory Jet – financed with money from the Djiboutian state, are not directly involved in this DEA drug trafficking investigation because this airline was making odd connections in West Africa”.
If this is the case, it is certain that Ismaël Omar Guelleh wants to use Tommy Tayoro Nyckoss as a scapegoat to save his head.
For European and American markets, Latin American drug gangs and cartels typically ship drugs via West Africa, using Guinea-Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal as entry points, according to experts.
